How to use

  1. 1Choose an image or drag it in.
  2. 2Pick a shape: Free for any crop, or a fixed one such as 1:1, 4:5, 16:9 or A4. “Swap” turns a shape between portrait and landscape.
  3. 3Drag the box to move it and its corners or sides to resize it. Zoom in for fine work, and use the buttons to rotate, flip or straighten a tilted photo.
  4. 4Choose the size of the result (the crop as it is, or an exact width and height in pixels) and the file type.
  5. 5Press Download. The cropped image is saved straight away.

FAQ

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Cropping happens inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. Your image never leaves your device.

Does cropping lower the quality?

No. With “Size of the crop”, the pixels inside the box are copied exactly as they are. PNG keeps them perfectly; JPG and WEBP use the quality slider (90 is a good choice). Only an exact size bigger than the crop area enlarges the picture, and the tool warns you when that happens.

How do I crop to an exact size like 1080 × 1080 or 300 × 300?

Choose “Exact size in pixels” and type the width and height. The box keeps that shape; place it where you want and download. The result is exactly that many pixels.

What does Straighten do?

It turns the photo by a small angle (up to 20° either way) to fix a tilted horizon or a crooked document. The crop box shrinks automatically so no empty corners show.

Which shape should I use?

1:1 for profile pictures and Instagram squares, 4:5 for Instagram portrait posts (also the shape of a 40 × 50 mm passport photo), 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails and wide screens, 9:16 for Stories and Reels, and A4 for documents you want to print.
