Image Converter

Convert many images at once to JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP or ICO, with control over quality, background colour and size. Download one by one or as a ZIP.

Convert to

Used where the image is transparent, because this format can't keep transparency.

Size

Images are never enlarged. Hidden details inside the file (camera, GPS location) are removed. Animated GIFs keep only their first frame.

No images added yet.

    How to use

    1. 1Choose your images or drag them in. You can add as many as you like, in different formats.
    2. 2Pick the format to convert to: JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, BMP or ICO.
    3. 3Set the quality (for JPG, WEBP and AVIF), a background colour for transparent areas, and, if you like, a maximum size.
    4. 4Each image is converted straight away. Download them one by one, or all together as a ZIP file.

    FAQ

    Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion happens inside your browser, on your own phone or computer, so your pictures never leave your device. It also works for private photos and documents.

    Which format should I choose?

JPG for photos and for most websites and forms; PNG for logos, screenshots and anything with transparency or sharp text; WEBP for websites, as it's much smaller than JPG at the same quality; ICO for a website favicon or a Windows icon; BMP only for old programs that need it.

Why did my transparent background turn white?

JPG and BMP can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour (white unless you pick another). Choose PNG or WEBP to keep transparency.

Why is the AVIF button greyed out?

AVIF files can only be made if your browser supports saving them, and most browsers can open AVIF but can't create it yet. WEBP gives almost the same small size and works everywhere.

Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos?

Only if your browser can open them; Safari on iPhone and Mac usually can, most other browsers can't. On an iPhone you can also share the photo as JPG first, or set Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible.

    Does converting reduce the quality?

PNG, BMP and ICO keep every pixel. JPG, WEBP and AVIF use the quality slider: 80–90 looks the same as the original for photos, with a much smaller file. Lower values make smaller files that start to look blurry.
