Follows Bangladesh's revised calendar: Pohela Boishakh is always 14 April; Boishakh to Ashwin have 31 days, Kartik to Choitro 30, except Falgun with 29 (30 in a Gregorian leap year). So 21 February = 8 Falgun, 26 March = 12 Choitro and 16 December = 1 Poush, every year. Dates in years before the revision may differ by a day from the old calendar.
How to use
- 1Pick a Gregorian date. It starts on today's date (Bangladesh time); use Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday or ±1 day to change it quickly.
- 2The cards instantly show the Bangla (Bangabda) date, weekday, season, Hijri date and the Gregorian date written in Bangla, each with an English transliteration.
- 3If the Hijri date doesn't match the local moon sighting, choose −1 or +1 day. Then press the copy button next to the ready-made Bangla line you need for a poster or invitation.
- 4Know the Bangla date already? Enter the day, month and year under "Bangla date to Gregorian date" to find the Gregorian date and weekday.
FAQ
What is the Bangla date today?
As soon as this page opens, today's Bangla (Bangabda) date, weekday, season and Hijri date show at the top in Bangladesh time. It follows Bangladesh's revised calendar, so it matches the official government calendar.
When is Pohela Boishakh?
In Bangladesh, Pohela Boishakh (Bangla New Year) is on 14 April every year. For example, 14 April 2026 = 1 Boishakh 1433 and 14 April 2027 = 1 Boishakh 1434. From 14 April to the end of the year, subtract 593 from the Gregorian year to get the Bangla year; from January to 13 April, subtract 594.
How many days are in each Bangla month?
In the revised calendar the first six months, Boishakh to Ashwin, have 31 days each; Kartik, Ogrohayon, Poush, Magh and Choitro have 30; Falgun has 29, or 30 in a Gregorian leap year.
What are 21 February, 26 March and 16 December in the Bangla calendar?
In the revised calendar these days fall on the same Bangla date every year: 21 February = 8 Falgun, 26 March = 12 Choitro, and 16 December (Victory Day) = 1 Poush.
Why is the Hijri date sometimes a day off?
A Hijri month starts when the new moon is sighted. This tool uses Saudi Arabia's Umm al-Qura calculation; in Bangladesh the moon is usually sighted a day later, so the date may be one day less. Use the −1/+1 day buttons on the Hijri card to match it, and your choice is remembered in this browser.
