Barcode
Size and colour
0.33 mm is the standard (100%) size for EAN and UPC.
Preview and download
Give the press the SVG: it keeps the exact size in mm and stays sharp. Test-scan one printed copy with a phone or scanner before printing hundreds.
Label sheet (A4)
Leave it empty to print the barcode above. Add a name after a comma, and a price after a second comma. The type (Code 128, EAN-13 …) is the one chosen above.
Label size and margins (mm)
In the print window choose A4, Scale 100% (or "Actual size") and Margins "None" or "Default". "Fit to page" changes the label size. Choose "Save as PDF" to send it to a press.
How to use
- 1Pick the barcode type: Code 128 for stock codes and invoices, EAN-13 or UPC-A for retail products, EAN-8 for small packs.
- 2Type the code. For EAN and UPC, leave off the last digit and the check digit is added for you; if you type it, the tool checks it.
- 3Set the bar width (0.33 mm is standard), the bar height and the colours, then download the SVG or a 300/600 DPI PNG.
- 4For stickers, paste one code per line in the label sheet (add a name and price after commas), choose the sheet and press Print sheet.
FAQ
Can I use any EAN-13 number on products I sell?
For your own shop, stock room or a local market, any number works with your own scanner. For big supermarkets and chain stores you need official numbers from GS1 Bangladesh, because their systems check that the number belongs to your company.
Which type should I choose?
Code 128 holds letters, digits and symbols, and is best for stock codes, invoice numbers and courier labels. EAN-13 (and UPC-A in the USA) is the 13-digit product barcode used in shops. EAN-8 is the short version for very small packs.
What is the check digit?
The last digit of an EAN or UPC barcode is worked out from the other digits, so the scanner can spot a misread. Type 12 digits for EAN-13 and the tool adds the 13th. If you type all 13 and the last one is wrong, the tool tells you the right one.
Can I put Bangla text in the barcode?
Not inside the bars: barcodes only hold English letters, digits and symbols. Put Bangla in the name or price line of the label sheet instead, for example মূল্য ৳১২০. It prints above the barcode.
What size should I print the barcode?
The standard EAN-13 bar width is 0.33 mm (about 37 × 26 mm in total). You can go down to 80% (0.26 mm) or up to 200%. Keep the white space on the left and right; the tool adds it for you. Print at 100% scale, not 'Fit to page'.
Will coloured barcodes scan?
Dark bars on a light background scan well, for example black, dark blue or dark green on white. Red, orange and yellow bars don't, because scanners use red light. The tool warns you when the colours are risky.
