How do I write 12500 taka in words?
In English: "Taka Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Only". With paisa, 12500.50 becomes "Taka Twelve Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty Paisa Only". The tool also gives the Bangla wording for Bangla memos.
Lakh or lac: which is correct?
"Lakh" is the standard spelling (you will also see "lac"). In the Bangla wording, the tool uses the formal "lokkho" rather than the spoken "lakh", as memos, cheques and deeds usually do. For example, 25,37,418 = Twenty-Five Lakh Thirty-Seven Thousand Four Hundred Eighteen.
How should I write the amount in words on a cheque?
Bangladeshi bank cheques usually take English words, "Taka … Only", for example Taka Twenty-Five Lakh Only. Write the figure with South Asian commas (25,00,000/-) and draw a line through the empty space after the words so nothing can be added.
How do crore, lakh and million compare?
