How to use Bijoy text in CorelDRAW, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Choose Unicode → Bijoy at the top, enter your text, then press Copy.
- CorelDRAW: click with the Text tool (F8), choose the SutonnyMJ font first, then press Ctrl+V. If a paste dialog appears, choose Discard fonts and formatting; otherwise the text lands in another font and looks like “Avgvi”.
- Illustrator / Photoshop: paste with the Type tool, then select all the text and set the font to SutonnyMJ. All Bijoy MJ fonts (TonnyBanglaMJ, ChandrabatiMJ and so on) share the same encoding, so any MJ font works.
- To use Unicode directly in Illustrator/Photoshop CC, turn on Middle Eastern & South Asian Every-line Composer from the Paragraph panel menu. Conjuncts then display correctly in Unicode fonts such as Hind Siliguri, Kalpurush or Nikosh.
How to use
- 1Pick a direction at the top: "Bijoy → Unicode" to post text from old SutonnyMJ files on Facebook or the web, or "Unicode → Bijoy" to place it in CorelDRAW or Illustrator.
- 2Paste or type text in the left box. It converts on the right as you type, however long the text is.
- 3Press "Copy" and paste it where you need it. For Bijoy text, set the font to SutonnyMJ in your design software.
- 4To double-check, press "Reverse": the result converts back the other way, and the large preview lets you compare.
FAQ
What is the difference between Bijoy and Unicode?
Bijoy (ANSI) stores Bangla letters in the codes of English letters, so the text only shows as Bangla in MJ fonts such as SutonnyMJ. Unicode is the international standard: it shows correctly in any Bangla font on Facebook, Google, phones and websites, and it can be found by search.
Why does Bijoy text pasted into Facebook look like "Avgvi †mvbvi"?
Facebook uses Unicode fonts, and Bijoy text is really just English letter codes. Convert it here with "Bijoy → Unicode" and copy the result, and it will read "আমার সোনার" correctly.
Why does Unicode Bangla break in CorelDRAW or Illustrator?
Older CorelDRAW (X7 and earlier) and Illustrator/Photoshop with default settings can't arrange Bangla conjuncts and vowel signs, so the ি-kar ends up in the wrong place. The easy fix: convert the text with "Unicode → Bijoy" and paste it in the SutonnyMJ font. In Adobe CC you can also turn on the Middle Eastern & South Asian Composer and use Unicode directly.
What if a conjunct doesn't look right after converting?
First check the font: SutonnyMJ or another MJ font for Bijoy text, and Hind Siliguri, Kalpurush, SolaimanLipi or Nikosh for Unicode. Rare conjuncts that have no glyph of their own in SutonnyMJ are written with a visible hasant (্), as Bijoy itself does, and they still read fine.
Is my text uploaded or saved anywhere?
No. The whole conversion happens in your browser and your text never goes to a server. For convenience, your last text is remembered in this device's browser only, and pressing "Clear" removes that too.
