FAQ
How do I find the HEX code of a colour in a photo or logo?
Upload the image and tap the spot you want. The exact HEX, RGB and CMYK values show under “Picked colour”. Tap the HEX code to copy it.
How does the tool choose the main colours?
It shrinks a copy of your image to about 200 pixels and groups similar colours together (k-means). Each colour shows how much of the image it covers. The same image always gives the same palette.
Can I use these CMYK values for printing?
Use them as a starting point. CMYK here comes from a simple formula, and the real print colour depends on the paper, ink and press. For a logo or brand colour, ask the press for a proof.
Should I use white or black text on a colour?
Each swatch shows which one is easier to read, with its contrast ratio. Aim for 4.5:1 or more for normal text, and 3:1 or more for large headings.
Are transparent parts of a PNG counted?
No. Fully transparent pixels are skipped, so a logo on a transparent background gives only the logo's colours.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The image is read inside your browser and never leaves your device.
