Image to Text (OCR)
Pull the text out of a photo, screenshot or scanned page, in Bangla, English or both, and copy or download it. It runs in your browser, so the image is never uploaded.
Text found
Check the text before you use it: OCR can mix up similar letters, especially in small, blurred or decorative fonts. You can correct it right in the box.
Your image never leaves your device. The reading engine is downloaded once from the jsDelivr CDN and then stays in your browser.
How to use
- 1Choose a photo, screenshot or scanned page, drop it in, or copy an image and press Ctrl+V on this page.
- 2Pick the language of the text: Bangla + English for mixed text, or just one of them for a cleaner result. Rotate the image if it's sideways.
- 3Press “Extract text”. The first time, the reading engine and language data download once (about 2–6 MB); after that it starts straight away.
- 4Check and correct the text in the box, then copy it or download it as a .txt file. “Join lines” turns the broken lines of a page back into paragraphs.
FAQ
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The text is read inside your browser with the open-source Tesseract OCR engine. Your image stays on your phone or computer, which makes it safe for NID cards, certificates, bills and private documents.
How accurate is Bangla OCR?
On a clear screenshot or a sharp, straight photo of printed text, most words come out right. Small, blurred, handwritten or decorative text, and photos taken at an angle, give more mistakes. Always read the result through before using it.
How can I get better results?
Crop or zoom so the text fills the photo, take it in good light and hold the phone straight above the page. Choose only the language that is really in the image, try “More contrast” or “Black & white” for faded paper, and tick “invert” for white text on a dark background.
What is the difference between Fast and Best?
Fast uses smaller language files that download quickly and run well on phones. Best uses the larger, more accurate files; it downloads about twice as much the first time and takes a little longer to read each image.
Can it read handwriting or a PDF?
It is made for printed and on-screen text; neat handwriting sometimes works but often doesn't. For a PDF, take a screenshot of the page (or export the page as an image) and use that.
